Frequently asked questions & answers- Job Search:Question 1: I really hate cold calling and I just can't do it, so do you have any hints for me so I don't miss out on un-advertised jobs? Question 2: For the last 3 months, I have applied to every advertised job that matches my experience & I have networked by letting everyone know that I am looking for a job, but I haven't had any job offers so far. What am I doing wrong? Question 3: I have been asked to attend a job interview in a different city., so will need an airline ticket, hotel room for one night & car rental or taxi. Should I ask them if they expect me to pay for these interview travel expenses or will they pay? Currently I am only working part time. Question 4: I had several interviews last month & two of them went very well & they both told me they would contact me within a week. The rest of the interviews were also good. I sent thank you letters to all the companies as I always do. I felt very confident that i would get an offer from one of the jobs, so I have taken it easy with the job search since then, but no one has contacted me.
