Interviews, but no job offers. I did very well at many interviews. Each interviewer told me they would contact me within a week. But I haven’t heard back from any of the companies.
These are common frequently asked questions related to interviews, but no job offers:
- I did very well at many interviews, but I do not hear back. What am I doing wrong?

I had many interviews and I did very well at each of them. Also, I sent thank you letters to each interviewer.
- And I felt very confident that I would get at least one offer. So, I have taken it easy with the job search since then.
- But no one has contacted me. Also I have called and left messages, but nothing yet. I have been without a job for 2 months. And I really need a job.
- So even though I am not getting any job offers, should I keep following up?
Answers to several interviews without any offers
- Some bosses take longer to decide. So you can follow up or contact them again. But do not follow up more than 1 or 2 more times.
- Do not stop your job search until you have a job offer.
- Since you are getting many interviews, your resume is probably standing out. But to increase the number of future interviews, you can still improve your resume.
- You may want to check your interview skills and presentation.

Possible reasons for not achieving any offers
- It is extremely competitive out there. So, you must stand out to be offered the job.
- It could be that you are appearing too desperate at the job interview.
- Maybe you are aggressive and/ or loud at the interview. Or you could be soft-spoken.
- It is possible that you are not being positive. Also, maybe you mention negative things about your previous or current boss.
- It could be that you don’t listen or that you interrupt the interviewer.
- May be at the interview, they realize that you are overqualified.
- It is possible that you have a high expected salary. So try to delay discussing salary until they make you an offer.
- Maybe you don’t appear trustworthy.
- It could be the interviewer feels that you won’t fit in with the team.
- Also, it could be that you are not accurate in your answers.
- It could be that you arrive late to the job interview. So always arrive 15 minutes early.
